It is a dream come true for some people that unexpectedly find a big amount of money suddenly appearing in your account. That is happened recently to some members on one of South Korean crypto exchange.

It was reported by Coindesk Korea has that one of Korean crypto exchange Coinnest has accidentally sent over $5 million in bitcoin and KRW and is looking a way to reclaim their misdirected funds.

Airdrop Program Make Exchange in Big Trouble.

Coinnest was trying to airdrop We Game Tokens (WGT), but somehow in the process it got crossed and they accidentally airdropped bitcoin instead in a catastrophic mistake.

They has announced it they accidentally sent 6 billion Korean won worth of bitcoin, which equally to $5.3 million, to their traders accounts.

In the middle of this chaos, they also accidentally sent some KRW to users but has been trying to reverts back their servers to recover some of their losses. Some account holders that lucky saw the crypto and manage to withdrew it right away. The exchange is now begging their users to return the funds. Coindesk Korea also noted that because so many Coinnest users were trying so hard to withdraw their surprise jackpot that it crashed the bitcoin price on coinneat to almost $50.

The server issues were apparently fixed on Jan 19, with approximately half of the Korean won that accidentally sent already returned. At this point in time, Coinnest does not have any plans to compensate anyone for the losses, although we believe the issue is not yet over.
